Executive Leadership Training

The Executive Leadership Series (ELS) is a series of roundtable conversations for students who are actively involved in a student organization and who hold some sort of positional leadership- president, vice-president, secretary, membership chair, etc. - in that group.

ELS is a forum for active student leaders to reflect upon and make sense of their leadership experiences here at MSU; to learn skills and strategies to address organizational and personal leadership issues and challenges; and to network with fellow student leaders.

Students who attend and actively participate in six (6) of the twelve (10) sessions for the 2007-2008 academic school year will receive a certificate of completion at the end of the semester and be recognized at the Department of Student Life Leadership Awards Ceremony in April.

All sessions will begin at 6pm and last for about 90 minutes. All the sessions will be held the Student Services Building in Conference Room 6 in the basement. The schedule for Spring 2008 session dates and topics for conversation are listed below:

Dinner is FREE and will be catered by Cottage Inn Pizza or Chipotle at each ELS session. Each session has a maximum of 25 students. Because space is limited, students must RSVP to attend. Reservations are accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis.

To register for a session, send an email with your name, the name of your organization, the session date(s) and your contact information to leadership@vps.msu.edu. In the event that you need to cancel your reservation, you must do so within 48 hours of the session date. Students who do not cancel in the requested time will automatically be placed on the waiting list for future sessions; if this happens a second time, students will not be permitted to attend future sessions.
