Housing Exception

Generally speaking, freshman and sophomore students are required to live on campus, though the sophomore requirement is currently waived .  Additionally, exceptions will be made for students who:

  • Are at least 20 years of age on or before the last official day of fall registration of the current academic year
  • Have earned 55 credits by the beginning of fall semester
  • Are married
  • Are a military veteran with one or more year of active service
  • Will be taking six or less credits starting the fall semester 

Students who meet any of these requirements need not apply for exception to the policy.

Students NOT meeting any of these criteria must apply for an exception.  Exceptions generally fall in to one of three categories:  medical, financial or other.  Please note that religious reasons alone are not sufficient to grant an exception.  For more information on the exception process, please download our application (.pdf), attach relevant supporting documentation and mail to:
