Pursuant to Article 5 Part II of Academic Freedom for Students at Michigan State University, MSU students have the right to formally challenge:
- University regulations believed to be inconsistent with rights guaranteed to students in the “AFR”;
- Administrative decisions believed to be inconsistent with rights guaranteed to students in the “AFR”;
- Registered student organization decisions believed to be inconsistent with their constitution.
However, students wishing to pursue such a grievance must first exhaust all other relevant and available means to resolve the apparent conflict. Students should also be aware that any decisions reached through the grievance process are not necessarily enforceable by the Department of Student Life.
For more information on this process, please contact the Department of Student Life at (517) 355-8286.
